Panic disorder

Panic disorder is a type of anxiety disorder. When a panic attack occurs, the patient experiences extreme fear and physical discomfort without any warning and without any obvious reason. This sudden unexpected panic attack often occurs repeatedly, causing the patient immense distress and severely affecting their daily life and work.

Symptoms of a panic attack include

  • Rapid heart rate
  • Sweating
  • Trembling or shaking in the hand(s) or body
  • Difficult to breathe or shortness of breath
  • Feelings of choking
  • Chest pain
  • Nausea or stomach discomfort
  • Dizziness or faintness
  • Feeling of cold or hot flashes
  • Numbness or tingling
  • Feeling of unreality or detachment from oneself
  • Fear of out of control or going crazy
  • Fear of dying
